Day 54: Time to update the menu

Will be heading down to popular bookstore later to grab some cook books before Eli starts to protest.
Yeah Eli, daddy feels you.

Kids Amaze @ Safra Jurong

Brought Eli to Kids Amaze @ Safra Jurong after his lunch that day. The one @ Jurong is more suitable for children around 3-5years old. Its tower structured in design, with its real-estate extending from Level 1 to Level 3, can be quite a steep climb for younger children and toddlers. Adult supervision is necessary, in my opinion.
The Ball cannons located at every level weren't operational. Guess they must be destroyed by most many abuses. heh.

Eli was on auto pilot

One of the main attractions there. a 18.5m spiral slide!  Can be quite dangerous for younger children and toddlers. Parents beware!

We had waffles with vanilla ice-cream after all the fun
Eli had a blast. Hope you and your little one will too!

Video: Eli @ Rainforest Kidzworld @ the Zoo on the 9th of Oct

Finally had the time to edit the videos taken the other day when we were at the Zoo. Here it is, in all Eli's Glory:

Lunch: ABC soup, Cod fish fillet & Kiwi desert

Daddy's cooking must have improved! Eli finished everything today! And quickly!

ABC Soup ingredients:
100g Spare ribs
1/2 Corn
1/2 Uncured Egg Tofu
1/2 Tbl spoon salt
600ml water

Slice of Cod Fish Fillet + Dark Soy Sauce
Read somewhere that Kiwi's good as it provides vitamins to combat the HAZE.
Eli love Kiwis!

Day 52: Air purifier filter change day

It's been a year since I've changed the Hepa filters for the air purifiers in the house. We made a trip to Sharp's spareparts centre and got the replacement filters. They've relocated to Link@AMK which is much nearer for us as compared to the previous location @ Alexandra road.

Eli was devastating Sharp Service Centre's reception area.
New HEPA filter on the left, 1year old HEPA filter on the right.

Toy: Jumbo Sketcher (magnetic doodle board)

Grandma came home with a surprise present for Eli this evening! Eli loves it so much. He has been doodling since he received it up to the point of this post.

Dinner: Chicken rice prep

Decided to prepare chicken rice today, seeing that there's half a chicken in the refrigerator and I've still got a box of Prima taste's Hainanese chcickenrice. Wonder if Eli will like it or not. Here goes...

Had to keep Eli occupied while I cook. So yeah, I'm guilty of providing him with YouTube.
Contrary to mainstream believe, I think YouTube can be quite educational. But yeah, it can be bad of the eyes. I'm Trying! :D
Quick check on the expiry date and it's good for another 10 months.
Says on the box a whole chicken is required. But all I've got is a half.
Comes with pretty easy to follow instructions. Like a quick start guide to setting up an IT appliance.
Chicken's being simmered in the premixed chickenrice stock as I'm uploading this.
Part II - The process

I've got to admit. I read the part of the instruction thrice, where it says "place Chicken into Ice water". Maybe you'll find it's pretty normal. But for someone like me who has only 1 month of real cooking experience, I find it surprising. I've heard of putting noodles into cold water. But Chicken into Ice water. This is a first.
Frosty Chicken beverage anyone?
Chicken stock looks legit with the oil beads on the surface.
Rice + Stock
Everything looks set. Time to stop the YouTubeR.

Finale - Dinner is served

Chicken looks a tad pinkish due to the soy sauce.

Product: Fresco bloom highchair *Update*

*SOLD*
If you're located in Singapore and are currently looking for a highchair, I've got one for sale. Drop me a msg. Will give you a good deal if you mention Eli's playpen blog ;D

Playtime with checkers

Eli spared no effort in harassing his bigger brother, Checkers.

Day 50: Blueberry morning everyone!

Eli was up especially early this morning at 6am.
*Haze was bad and I believe it won't be gone for the next couple of days. A pat on the back of myself for bringing Eli to the Zoo when the air conditions got better a few days ago.*
After his usual breakfast cereals and boiled egg, Eli had Blueberries! Gave him about 12 of these. He gobbled them up in a jiffy!
